I rescued Kobi from the Lee County Humane Society here in SW Florida three a little over four ago. She was seven months old when I got her. Some people found her as a small pup wandering along the side of the road. They kept her for a few months and then took her in to be adopted. They claimed she was too playful and had way too much energy for their two older dogs. It just so happened that I was looking for a Black Lab at that time. I saw a photo of her on the Humane Society’s web site and went in and adopted her the very same day. She instantly became a part of the family! Here on Juno’s 8-week birthday I’m showing what she’s learned; I started with “sit” and “stay” at 6 weeks and have moved on from there. We don’t have a clicker or any real dog training knowledge (this is our first puppy). We’ve just used treats (usually tiny pieces of cheese) as well as praise for her motivation. Labs are smart and very eager to please!
