Meet Daisy the mamma dog, who lost her seven puppies in a tragic accident when her owner’s barn caught fire. “We tried to run to the barn but it was too late. We had to hold Daisy as she tried to run into [it],” doggie’s owner Jessica Woodruff told Buzzfeed. Daisy was so heartbroken, she lost interest in life. “[The dog] wasn’t really eating, was walking down to the barn whining and sitting down,” Woodruff said. “My heart broke for this new mom — that’s all she wanted.” And that’s when her owner decided to do something about the dog’s grief…
She turned to the Internet to spread the message about what happened to Daisy, asking if anyone has some foster puppies the mother dog could take care of. A woman named Lorna Murphy reached out. Her dog Chloe died shortly after giving birth, leaving eight puppies orphaned.
Daisy started nursing the babies right away and she is just beaming with happiness. The pups will return home once they’re weaned, but at least for now, the mother is smiling once again.
