1. The Louisiana Leopard Catahoula Dog is also known as the Catahoula Cur.
2. Catahoulas are bred mostly for temperament rather than appearance.
4. A full grown Catahoula can weight 40-80 lbs.
5. The Catahoula comes in many colors including brindle, blue merle, red merle, and solid colors.
6. Catahoula’s are apart of the herding group.
7. The Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog was believed to have been originated from the Nordic Wolfhound.
8. The breed is designated as the state dog of Louisiana.
9. The Catahoula Cur is extremely versatile and smart.
10. The Catahoula Leopard Dog must be in a home with a strong owner so this may not be a good breed for a first time dog owner.
