Tyson is a stunning 1 year old black and tan male Lab / Rottweiler mix. His weight is 60lbs. Tyson was saved seconds before being euthanized. Melissa, MDotM staffer, saw him going into the Euth. Room and placed a hold on him. He was said to be fearful but was a sweet heart with us. He is a wonderful sweetheart of a dog. He is a handsome boy now with his cropped tail but at only 1 year old, he still is basically a puppy although he shouldn’t grow any more but might get more muscle and maturity and intelligence. At this young age, he is actually pretty laid back and without formal training, he can sit wonderfully on command, walks great on the leash and always looking to handler for directions. He is always wants approval and is eager to please, obviously intelligent and easy to train. He is affectionate and loves hugs and cuddles. Is also friendly, outgoing and playful. Because he is a big boy and NOT little, furry and fluffy, he is one of our longest residents and desperately wants a home with a family he can love and be devoted to. Do you have room for a big sweet boy with a big loving heart? Adoption fee $70 includes spay, vaccination and micro-chip. Mia is a stunning 2 year old tri-colored female Yellow Lab / Boxer mix. Her weight is 73lbs. Mia has been here way too long, she is one of our longest resident and this poor sweet girl really deserves a forever loving home. She sadly watches as she gets passed by and mostly because she is one of our largest dogs. She has everything the dogs have that are flying out the door except she was not born small and fluffy. This beautiful big baby was surrendered in Miami by her owners when they decided to move to a home that would not allow Mia to stay with them. She is a big affectionate wonderful girl who thinks she’s a lap dog. She is smart and is eager to please, so she should be easy to train and she is house broken. She is friendly and outgoing and gets along with other dogs. She misses having a family to love and cuddle with and is very lonely in a kennel environment. She loves to have fun and is playful and clowns around. Right now it would be hard to find a better dog for a family with children over 10 and doesn’t have cats; When someone takes the time to put a little training and obedience into her, she’ll be such an awesome girl and the pride and joy of any family. Adoption fee $70 includes spay, vaccination and micro-chip. Call the Jackson County Humane Society, Maquoketa, IA 563-652-5360
